How will this data be used?
1) Roadkill data are used to understand which species are affected, what time of year they are most affected, and where they are most affected. 2) Live and dead animal observations help us to understand distributions of wildlife in different parts of the world. In California, our system is the largest continuous wildlife monitoring project in the state and its all volunteer contributions. 3) Wildlife observations collected over time and space help us to understand threats that land-use and climate change pose to many species and how they are changing in response to these threats. Watch this brief video to learn why this project is important.
