Schools and Universities

We work with educators to expand learning beyond the four walls of the classroom. Through our outdoor programs, students interact directly with professional scientists and have the opportunity to collect data for ongoing scientific research projects. We offer students the skills to design and implement their own research projects while serving as mentors for younger students. We believe that experiences with ASC will provide the spark for future interest in the scientific field.

ASC offers learning opportunities both during the school year and over the summer. We work with educators to ensure that students have safe, fun, and rewarding experiences that complement standard curriculum and support STEM learning. Our student outings are generally between 2 and 10 days and can be designed for students of all levels, K–University.

How It Works

We design projects around your interests and the current needs of the scientific community. As there is a need for scientific information throughout the world, we can organize an outing just about anywhere. While we will need you to choose the location you would like to experience, ASC is happy to provide suggestions.

Consider doing something in your backyard – We can organize an outing where you live. This will allow participants to become more familiar with the wildlife, ecology and issues in your home area.

Consider what type of environment you would like to visit. Even if you don’t know which national forest, region, or country you want to explore, but you know you want to be in the desert or jungle, we can run with this.
